On Monday, May 26 (Memorial Day), Pastor Ledogar and Sandra Stancik will lead a service at 10am at Christ Lutheran Cemetery (147th Street and 82nd Avenue in Orland Park)remembering those who have been sainted and are buried there. A special ceremony featuring the American Legion Orland Memorial Post #111 will be included, honoring the veterans buried at Christ Cemetery, and giving worshippers a chance to remember and thank those who have served in our Armed Forces.
Christ Lutheran Cemetery has been in existence since May 1, 1906. In 1986, a section immediately south of the original property was purchased, allowing the addition of a second driveway for separate entrance and exit points. A total of 2,058 spaces currently exist and are available for sale to all Lutherans and their families. Those who plan to attend the Memorial Day service are asked to enter the cemetery on the south side and park in the spaces nearby. If you would like to sit during the service, please bring a lawn chair with you. We look forward to sharing the hope of life everlasting with you as we remember our loved ones during this special service.
