PATHS TO MEMBERSHIP Guests and regular guests are always most welcome here at Christ Lutheran! Recently, some regular guests have asked me about how to formally join the congregation. There are several paths to membership. For those who have current Lutheran membership, a Transfer request letter is asked for and sent from our church office to the sending congregation. Those that have been confirmed as Lutheran and whose congregational membership has lapsed are welcome to speak with me about being welcomed into membership by Reaffirmation. For those who are new to the faith, I welcome conversations about Holy Baptism and membership. If you are from a different Christian tradition, we can talk about needed involvement in our next Faith and Congregation Class (FCC) and subsequent Confirmation of Faith. FCC is recommended for all new CLC members since the class reviews the basics of our Christianity and Lutheran denomination and the mission, history, organization, programs, art and buildings of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church. If you have any questions or would like to start a membership process, please contact me, Pr. Ray+, at rrohlfs@Christlutheranorland.com

On Good Friday, April 14th, the Christ Choir of Christ Lutheran Church will perform the Good Friday cantata, “The Rose of Calvary” written by Joseph M. Martin. This Tenebrae includes choral music, hymns, narration, readings, and congregation participation.
The image of a sacred flower, a divine rose, from heaven’s own garden blooming in the shadows of our world is a portrait of hope and comfort. This Tenebrae is of God’s tender love song reminding us that we are all children of the garden. The music of one truly perfect rose who, choosing grace, died for His beloved thorns.
Noah’s Nursery is in need of volunteers during the Sunday 9:30 a.m. service. The nursery is open to all infants and children through the age of 3. If you are interested in volunteering in the nursery, please contact Jennifer Herrmann at 708- 268-4496 or email@example.com.
NOAH’S NURSERY will be resuming after the first of the year when our new coordinator has an opportunity to recruit and train volunteers. In the meantime, two cry room areas with service on closed-circuit television are available for children and their parents who need to worship away from the sanctuary: downstairs in the northwest corner of the sanctuary basement and also in the Fireside Room annex. GRANDPARENTS…PARENTS…YOUTH Please help serve some of the littlest members of our congregation and give their parents time to worship too! If you would like to serve as a volunteer in our nursery, please contact Monica Stampanato..

Christ Lutheran Cemetery, located at 147th & 82nd Avenue in Orland Park, IL., has been in existence since May 1, 1906. A section immediately south of the original property was purchased in 1986, making it possible to have two driveways off 82nd Avenue for a separate entrance and exit. In 1991 an exchange of land to the west was made between the cemetery and the owners of Silver Lake Country Club.
In the early 1900′s, a cast iron gateway bearing the cemetery name graced the entrance. The present sign, which can be read from either direction, was installed in 1995.
There are a total of 2,058 spaces in the entire cemetery. The cost of each gravesite is $600 and the opening charge is $1,100. Lots are for sale to all Lutherans and their families. Please contact the church office at 708-349-0431 for more information.
