PARKAS FOR ORPHANS IN IRAQ : We need women and men who can sew. Bring your sewing machines and sergers on Saturday, August 16, 9:30 – 2:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided. If possible, also bring scissors, pins, thread (white and blue) and polar fleece. The parkas will be sent to orphans in Iraq who have lost everything. CARING CUBE : We invite you to participate in the National Mutual Benefit's Caring Cube by placing non-perishable food items into our Loaves and Fishes box located in the narthex. National Mutual Benefit has contributed $35.00 for the Easter season. SUPPORT OUR TROOPS is continuing to collect used DVDs for the soldiers. DVDs can be put in the designated box in the narthex. Please – NO VHS movies – they do not have VHS players. 61 DVDs have been sent over - - - thank you so much! Let's keep it going. DIEFENTHALER FOUNDATION GRANTS : The Diefenthaler Foundation for Professional Church Workers was established in August 1983 as a testimonial to † Mark Diefenthaler and his ministry as Director of Christian Education at Christ Lutheran. Scholarships from the fund are available to students preparing for full-time church work. Applications for the 2008-2009 academic year are available in the Church Office. Applicants must reapply every year. Applications are due by June 30. OUR LITTLE BOOK SHOPPE is open today between services. The Ladies Aid has napkins for sale in the book shop.
